Every day an adventure!
From its start in 1965, our Pre-school Playgroup for 2 – 5 year olds has developed to be a well-established setting which is highly valued in our community. Our caring and experienced staff members have worked with us for many years and provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment.
We are a fully inclusive practice and welcome children from all backgrounds, including those with English as an additional language. We have extensive experience supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities. We offer 2 year funded places to eligible children, as well as the universal 15 hours for 3+ year olds and 30 hour funding to eligible families.
Our location is adjacent to the Radcliffe on Trent Infant and Nursery School, ideal for transition, and we work closely with them and other schools to ensure a positive transition for children moving on. We also work closely with local childminders to support our families.

What Our Families Think
I have been so delighted with how my child has settled at playgroup and I think it is 100% down to the skills of the staff. The activities and the structure of the day are so well-organised, the staff are so warm and friendly, and my child speaks very happily about their time at playgroup and all the staff there.
The setting is brilliant. The environment seems like a home away from home and the team feel very supportive and caring. If I have concerns they have been seen to straight away. I can tell my child is happy and content at the setting. I feel happy dropping them off and picking them up.
There is a wonderful level of variety in the toys/activities provided, and there’s a sense of genuine caring from the staff which is lovely to see. My child is very vocal and will always tell me if not happy about anything, and they’ve been really happy going into playgroup every time, which just shows how great you all are!
ALL the staff at playgroup have been really amazing with my child and helping her settle.
The induction myself and my child attended was very useful and put my mind at rest. The information provided prior to coming to the visit was very helpful. It made me feel more prepared for my child to start nursery.
I get lots of updates and it’s great to see regular photos. All staff seem really interested in my child’s needs and helping him settle in.
